UPDATE

Communications
In the article Face Time in the 21st Century the author discusses the several ways that we now communicate wirth each other. Personally I prefer the first and the last ones mentioned. What are they? Read the article and find out.

Inthe article Performing Better Searches the author gives us a primer on how to structure our search criteria. He tells us how to specifically include or exclude certain words or subjects. Most of you probably know most of this but, if you don't, it might save you some time and frustration when looking for a specific item or subject.

In the article Face-To-Face - Keep In Touch With Web Cams the author briefly discusses the features of the HP Premium Autofocus Webcam and the Logitech QuickCam Pro 9000. The Logitech device was given the better review. If you are considering the purchase of a webcam you might want to read this review before going shopping for one.

Operating Systems
In Diagnosing RAM Errors in Vista the author Vinnie LaBash gives you a quick rundown on what this diagnostic tool does. It is offered with the Vista operating system. Here is his last paragraph: "The Windows Memory Diagnostic Tool is an excellent utility, but it sometimes delivers a false positive. In addition, many knowledgeable people believe that hardware based testers are superior. Regardless, the utility is an excellent diagnostic instrument provided it is used with those limitations in mind. "

In Sandbox Computing author Brian Lewis discusses the computer application or tool, Sandboxie, that we have written about before, and which allows you to surf the 'Net more safely with less likelihood of picking up a virus or Trojan horse. Sandboxie sets up a virtual computer from which you can surf the Web. When you are finished sufing simply delete the virtual computer and any detritus it may have picked up during the session. Worth consideration.

In Mac Versus PC columnist Sandy Berger notes that since Apple switched to Intel microprocessors, thesoftware designed for Windows will run on the Mac. It is necessary to reboot and run a program called BootCamp to set up the Mac to run Windows. Mention is made of a program that allows both Windows and Mac operating systems to be loaded on a Mac with a means of switching between them without re-booting.

General Interest
In Irfanview 4.0 - Freeware Image Editor and Media Player the author says "Imagine a free (for non-commercial use), full featured utility that can display and edit almost all known image formats, and convert from any one format to any other... a utility that can play almost every known audio and video format with its free "Plugins" file, all in a small and very efficient software package. Some skeptics may say that this sounds too good to be true, but lucky for us, it is indeed true. The program that can do all of the above, and more is the very popular Irfanview, version 4.0"

In Yes, Yes, Yes, I Accept the aiuthor suggests taking more time to read the license agreements before accepting them. You may not like what you are agreeing to.
