   In The Garage the author gives a thumbnail sketch of the early days the personal digital computers built and owned by members of the Homebrew Computer Club.

   Some brief instructions are given on Starting in Safe Mode on your computer. We hope you never need this but you should know how to do it and what it means if you ever have problems with your computer.

Communications
   A simple way to have your own blog on the net is provided in Present your Web Presence with a Wiki. Check it out.

   The author provides suggestions about saving your list of contacts and other information in an easily managed form in Backing Up Outlook Contacts

   If you password protect more than one area of your computer you will want to read Keeping Track of Multiple Passwords

Operating Systems
   In Vista Vexes the author discusses several security programs which do not yet work with Windows Vista. He also discusses several other quirks you should be aware of which might make your existing applications unusable or at least problematic.


   In Windows XP Upgrade to Vista Vinnie Labash suggests that you probably don't necessarily need the full version of Vista. He suggests that you read the article and save money

   He goes on to say in Video For Vista that a little foresight and planning may serve you well. He suggests that your video card may be out-of-date when it comes to handling Vista's video demands. Read it and learn.

   In Knoppix To The Rescue the author describes how the Knoppix program on a bootable CD saved him from all sorts of trouble by retrieving otherwise unretrievable files. Knoppix has been around for a few years. Maybe you should take a look at this.

   So you think your PC is invulnerable with your iron-clad password system? Take a look at XP Passwords Rendered Useless and you may be surprised at how vulnerable you are.

General Interest
   Ira Wilsker gives you some insight into how to go about planning for your retirement in Online Retirement Planning. Use your computer to checkout your actual or proposed plan

Hardware
   If you move your computer from place to place you know how awkward moving your monitor can be. In Upgrading to an LCD Monitor the author mentions how much lighter an LCD monitor is. But their are other desirable features too. Check it out.

   The old undelete command is no longer available to help in Recovering Files From a Hard Drive. The article suggests three programs you may want to try.
