Search Engine To The Rescue
Tacoma Open Group for Microcomputers
A question to our Help Line Volunteers had them stumped Where do you think we found the answer? The manual? No, they didn't have one handy. Google! That's where!

Q: How do you find out the word count in a WordPerfect document?

A: Not being an expert user of WordPerfect and not having a manual handy we invoked our browser Internet Explorer and loaded Google .
We then typed the words WordPerfect word count into Google's subject box and clicked the Search button. Google yielded several website addresses, the first listed gave the answer. We didn't need to look further but there were probably many other sites with the correct information.

Does this mean that manuals are no longer necessary? No, of course not! However, many of them are on-line now. Where do you think Google got the answer? So don't overlook the usefulness of the ubiquitous Google when the "official" source is unavailable to you.
