UPDATE
Q&E Session
What? You've heard of a Q&A Session but don't know what Q&E is? Why it's Quilting and Embroidery of course! What else?

Make a note to alert your SO1 to the upcoming program presentation this month. It will be a repeat of Sandee Gimblett's description of her embroidery and quilting endeavours. She will describe how she uses her computer in support of her Pfaff automated sewing machine to produce beautiful designs and professional quality products.

Sandee uses a mixture of commercial and downloaded sewing patterns and other ideas from the Internet and then transfers them to her sewing machine's memory card so the machine can integrate the downloaded design into her work. She has produced an extensive "library" of embroidery patterns on cloth swatches which she can then use to select patterns to use in combination. The presentation ends with a demonstration of the automated sewing machine physically producing an embroidered design
1 Don't know what an SO is? You'd better read the article here

Ah! Memories!
Although the lead-off article in the Beginner's section is not exactly a beginner's instructional article, it is an informative review of the historical changes that have occurred in computer memory over the past
half century. And where memory has gone so has the computing power of the machine, continually doubling within a few years.

The Usual
This issue like those before it carries the usual complement of tips and descriptions of computer programs and techniques. Many may be familiar to you, but as editors we also hope some may be not only new to you but useful to you as well

And The Unusual
While most of the articles we find and print in these pages address common problems and their solutions, we also look for those that you may not find by casually browsing a computer magazine or newsletter. Such an article will be found here It is titled Geocaching and describes a new game played by those with a flare for the esoteric or the least mundane. Check it out! It may be just the pastime you've been looking (Geocaching?) for.

A Senior Moment?
The other day my browser screen filled with an undesired display. For a couple of days I couldn't remember how to get rid of it. Then I remembered: click on Tools/Internet Options and on the Home page panel select from Use Current, Use Default, Use Blank. I selected Use Blank and was back to what for me is normalcy.
