This is a Canadian company and if
Canadian accounting practices are used they may be slightly different
than those used in the US. For example some US Loan companies and banks
take loan interest "off the top" at the beginning of a loan
period. Thus if you borrow $100 at 10% they take back $10 and leave you
$90 to use during the period (really 11.11% interest) whereas Canadian
practice, by law, is to take interest "not in advance", i.e. you get
$100 and they wait until the end of the period before they get their 10 bucks. That is true simple interest! - TOGGLE ed.]
