If you use a shared network drive only occasionally, you probably access it by double-clicking Network Neighborhood. If the drive is one you use more frequently, however, you can get to it quicker by mapping the drive so that it appears as a drive letter on your computer. To map a network drive, first find the drive in Network Neighborhood and then right-click and choose Map Network Drive. Choose a drive letter
from the drop-down menu and click OK. You can now access the network drive by selecting it on your computer the same way you would your hard drive--that is, by simply double-clicking on My Computer and finding it.
