Isn't it annoying when
your screen is suddenly taken over by a sponsor's message in the form of
a popup window? When a popup window occurs you have two choices, (now
that your concentration has been destroyed): you can either go to the
sponsor's website, or you can close that extra unwanted window. There is
a FREE program that actually gives you a third choice: kill the popup
window before it ever has a chance to annoy you. This is a great choice
for certain websites that have a profusion of popups.
You can download Pop Up Killer, version 1.4 from
ZDnet at http://www.zdnet.com/ downloads/ stories/ info/ 0,,41154,.html.
|
This highly rated program
has already been downloaded about a quarter million times, and is only
2.69MB in size. With features such as the Smart! engine, Pop UP Killer
can identify possible popups and close them even before you see them.
You can also control the amount of browser windows you permit to be
opened simultaneously, a feature that's really handy when you are
browsing an annoying site that opens new pages each time you close a
browser window. You can even configure it to play a sound when it kills a
popup.
