- TweakUI version 1.33 - TweakUI is
the most impressive offering of Microsoft's famous free Power
Toys. Its icon appears in the Contro Panel; click on it to bring
up a multi-tabbed interface that
grants the user access to a
considerable number of hidden Windows settings. Some of the settings
include Mouse, Explorer, Desktop, My Computer, Paranoia, etc. This
version runs with Win9x and
although not sanctioned by
Microsoft, seems to work OK with Windows Me.
- WebFerret version 3.5001 - WebFerret
is the easiest way to locate the information you want on the
Internet. It queries large Web Search Engines to find, quickly and
efficiently, whatever it is that
you are looking for. It will
query all configured search engines simultaneously and discard any
duplicate results. Results that are returned (often within a
second or two) can be acted on
immediately. It can be easily
configured to use any or all of the following search engines: Alta
Vista, AOL NetFind, Anzwers, CNET, EuroSeek, Excite, Findwhat,
GOTO, HotBot, ICQ iT!, LookSmart,
Lycos, MSN, Northern Light,
Search UK, and WebCrawler. This version was released in December
2000.
- StarOffice
5.2 - This is the latest version of the comprehensive Office
Suite offered by Sun Microsystems. This suite has an almost
identical series of office utilities
and competes directly with
Microsoft's Office97/2000. TOG holds a Gold Master CD and the
rights to reproduce copies for members. This is made available by
Sun as freeware for personal use.
Members may have a copy for a
small fee to cover the cost of reproduction. Orders are being taken
