Badmouthing Linux?
No, not really. The article on page 4 asking if Linux is Ready For Prime Time is just another viewpoint. Is it ready for beginners to install and fathom? Probably not. Is it ready for beginners to use once setup by someone else - probably, but it may still need some work. Should you dive into it? That depends on your level of curiosity, expertise and interest. Are We Becoming Elitist?
We certainly hope not. Our Webster's New College Dictionary carries the following definition.

esoteric (adj.) [Gr. esoterikos, fr. esoteros inner.] Designed for, and understood by, the specially initiated alone; abstruse; also, belonging to the circle initiated in such teachings.
Every once in a while we carry an article which we know is beyond the ken of many of you, and may be of interest only to those members who are somewhat more advanced or specialized in specific areas of computer science. Such an article, Kerberos, appears in a section we have labeled Esoterica. We try to cater to all levels of membership from beginner to expert. This is one for the latter. Go ahead. Read the article, but don't fret if it talks about things you don't understand or even care about. Who knows, in another year you may be one of the number who do.

And if we start to get too far "off the beam", speak up. After all this is your user group, and although we try to cater to all levels of expertise in the group we can get too pedantic sometimes and in love with the sound of our own voice. Our members have never been shy about voicing their feelings -- so we feel sure that you'll tell us if we go astray.
