| John Krill's Windows 98 Assistance Web Site | |
| by By James C. Smith - NOCCC Win 95/98 SIG leader | |
|
John Krill has created a
new Web site that is a fantastic resource for any Windows 95/98 user.
John ran NOCCC's Windows 95/98 SIG for many years and wrote countless
articles for the Orange Bytes newsletter. Now he has gathered all that
information, organized it, and made it all easily available in one
place. Just direct your Web browser to http://sites.netscape.net/jskrill/1
Make sure you include the last slash when typing the address. Some Web browsers (Internet Explorer) will not be able to navigate the site properly if that last slash is missing. When you get to the Web site you will find a Windows 98 tip of the day, Virus alerts, common Windows questions, previous Bytes articles, and links to resources useful to Windows users. |
e.g.: Here's a hint from John Krill's site:
Download Utility to Hide System Tray Items2 Q. Can I hide items that are in the System Tray? A. PC magazine (11/23/99) has a utility (traymgr.zip) that can hide items in the Tray and more. Go to: www.zdnet.com/pcmag/filters/solutions/0,8225, 6007735,00.html and click on Tray Magician. This utility works with Win 95 and Win 98. Footnotes: 1 [This is an interesting site. Worth the trip - ed] 2 [Even though hidden they are still using system resources - ed] |
