At the March meeting Ray
Mills made us aware of a neat software program called PixAround, now in
Beta test, which will "stitch" together several photos taken in
panoramic sequence. He said that using a digital camera a fellow-worker
took several photographs in a 360 degree sweep in an office and the
software combined them into one panoramic view, automatically adjusting
the edges of furniture and
|
other objects until they merged into one
coherent image. There is a limit to how many images can be handled but
it is well within a reasonable number. Digital camera phreaks should
check it out at http://www.pixaround.com.
A search for "image stitching" brought up several similar programs
priced from $25 to $50, but this one's free. One reviewer says: "A great
free program for the beginner."
