Unsuccessful Software Installation

Q. I installed a scanner on my computer but I can't get the software that came with it to work. I have checked the directory and it is there but it won't run when I click on it.

A. It sounds like you didn't get a complete Install. You should go to the Control Panel and select the Install/Uninstall software action. Find the software in list displayed and Uninstall it.

Q2. I tried that but it isn't in the list of software.

A2. You apparently have some remnants of the software still on your system that are incomplete and prevent the appropriate actions from taking place. What you need to do is to re-establish those links. To do this, re-install the software. But don't trust this installation to work properly. Immediately go to the Control Panel again and Uninstall it. This should get rid of any broken links. Then, if this Uninstall is successful, Install the software again, from scratch.
