GUEST EDITOR ISSUE

TOGGLE editor, Bob Thomson, asked me if I would be the guest editor for the June 2003 issue of TOGGLE. So here is my first Guest Editor issue of TOGGLE.

One of the things I like to see in TOGGLE is more articles written by our own club members. I remember in the early days of the club, this was the norm, as there were few other sources to get articles from. So in that line I have asked several members to write about their favorite applications in hopes of getting an "all TOG" issue. Well, we didn't quite get there, but maybe this will start the ball rolling. I started by writing about a marine navigation program that I use for cruising (page 2). Bob Thomson still likes DOS applications and has contribuited some comments on WordStar, SuperCalc, and dBase (starting on page 2). Bob Henkel has contributed his comments on CreataCard (page 3). Sandee Gimblett contributed an input on her embroidery design software (page 9).

Another thing I would like to see in TOGGLE is an occasional reference issue. By that I mean the handy kind of data it is nice to have next to the computer instead of having to go to a heavy reference book. I like to cut things out like this and keep them alongside. We have three such reference materials in this issue; A Table of Special Characters entered with the Alt key (page 10), Keyboard Mouse Shortcuts (page 8), and the Procedure For Starting Windows in the Safe Mode (page 8).

Yet another new feature has been added with this issue, "Northwest Washington Computer News". It is news from our sister club, "TIGGLE" in Lynden WA on page 6.
